Flicker

From the golden age of art movies and underground cinema to X-rated porn, splatter films, and midnight movies, this breathtaking thriller is a tour de force of cinematic fact and fantasy, full of metaphysical mysteries that will haunt the dreams of every moviegoer. Jonathan Gates could not have anticipated that his student studies would lead him to uncover the secret history of the movies—a tale of intrigue, deception, and death that stretches back to the 14th century. But he succumbs to what will be a lifelong obsession with the mysterious Max Castle, a nearly forgotten genius of the silent screen who later became the greatest director of horror films, only to vanish in the 1940s, at the height of his talent. Now, 20 years later, as Jonathan seeks the truth behind Castle’s disappearance, the innocent entertainments of his youth—the sexy sirens, the screwball comedies, the high romance—take on a sinister appearance. His tortured quest takes him from Hollywood’s Poverty Row into the shadowy lore of ancient religious heresies. He encounters a cast of exotic characters, including Orson Welles and John Huston, who teach him that there’s more to film than meets the eye, and journeys through the dark side of nostalgia, where the Three Stooges and Shirley Temple join company with an alien god whose purposes are anything but entertainment.

The strange and forbidden, darker side of life which it portrays, captures our wildest dreams and gives us a glimpse of the unknown. Many of us have seen horror movies in theaters or rented DVD’s of the same. But what makes watching these movies so interesting is the fact that how they try to thrill us every time. Killer madman, zombies, ghosts, Dracula, Satan, aliens, vampires, witches, and sometimes supernatural powers make these movies worth watching. But how did it all start? List of films found here: www.pajiba.com For the purposes of the video, all intentionally funny quotes (like Bruce Campbell’s Army of Darkness quips, or Chuckys various one-liners) have been left out. And yes, I know there is quite a few lines in the video that can be construed as humorous, but in my opinion all of these lines were never intended to be amusing, unlike say “Hail to the king baby”. Oh, and these quotes are not ranked, nor is there any order or countdown.

Upcycled Vintage Horror Movie Envelopes

A few nice Horror Movies images I found:

Upcycled Vintage Horror Movie Envelopes
Horror Movies

Set of 15 Recycled/Upcycled envelopes made from a vintage copy of "A Pictorial History of Horror Movies" book published in 1973 and diabolically rescued for you straight from the Crypt.

This original ex-library book was in such a frightful condition when I found it, with the spine broken and pages already ripped out, it screamed that I should make beautiful yet chilling envelopes from it.

Every envelope features a unique and spine-tingling horror scene from such films as Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dracula, Phantom Of The Opera, The Curse Of The Werewolf and such sinister actors as Vincent Price and Boris Karloff.

Each large envelope fits most postcards at approx. 15.2cm wide x 11cm tall, is self-sealing and comes with its own white adhesive label in case you wish to pop one in the post. All 15 envelopes are tied together with a blood-red ribbon, skeleton key and carved skull charm.

Perfect for sending out invitations to your very own vintage Horror Fright Night!

Josh and I were looking for good filming location for a zombie movie we’re starting to put together. I was a little disappointed in the light cast by my light cannon.
