How To Live On A

How to Live on a Budget

It?s not even necessary to say ?out loud? that economic times are tight. Everyone is feeling a pinch right now and in order to survive financially, you may need to learn how to live on a budget. Once you put your life and money into perspective, and on paper, living on a budget is not a difficult thing to do.

First you?ll want to create a budget. If you are spending and then wondering where your money is going, creating a budget on paper will help significantly. You?ll want to make a list of all your monthly expenses. Don?t worry just yet about how much money you make. Simply round off the numbers and list out figures for all your monthly expenses such as rent/mortgage, car payment, insurances, gas, and utilities, as well as groceries, household expenses, entertainment costs, and anything else that you spend money on each month.

Now you?ll want to subtract the total from your list above from what you bring in each month. If you?re spending more than you make, of course that?s a problem. In order to figure out how to live on a budget you?ll need to start making cuts. Begin with the expense that you need/want the least. Perhaps you pay $ 80 per month for a cable television bill. Think about how often you actually watch television, how often you rent movies or download movies online, and how often your favorite television programs are on local broadcast anyway. It?s quite possible to live without cable television. It?s a luxury that is really unnecessary. The thought of disconnecting service might actually be more painful than the act itself. You?ll be surprised at how much time you?ll have to complete other tasks or go to fun places if you don?t have access to a sofa in front of 900 channels.

Check through your list and find other entries that can either be eliminated or downsized. Perhaps with better planning you can save gas money. Perhaps you could use your landline telephone more often and cut your cell phone bill in half. Maybe you could plan for more free events for entertaining your children, or take up a hobby instead of drinking at the bar every Friday.

With a little bit of creativity in these tough times, anyone can save more money and learn how to live on a budget. The economy will turn around and this won?t take forever. If necessary, you can allot a monthly or weekly amount towards a habit you find hard to break. Perhaps you just don?t want to stop drinking coffee from Starbucks (though brewing your own would be much cheaper!) Living on a budget doesn?t have to take all your little luxuries away. Simply limiting your Starbucks purchases to twice a week, maybe Monday and Friday, and brewing your coffee the rest of the time, will cut back some of your spending. Make your own lunches a few days a week, or carpool one day per week. With a little bit of thought, so many of our habitual expenses will disappear painlessly.

Shop for deals, turn off the lights, cut off the cable, attend free events and pay off high interest bills. Focus on the greatest parts of life and stop stressing about money. Keep better track of how much you?re spending and on what. You?ll soon see your financial outlook shining a little more brightly.

Emilie Autumn (born September 22nd, 1979 in Los Angeles, California, United States, currently residing in Chicago) is a violinist, singer-songwriter, poet and author. She is best known for her wide range of musical styles, especially her usage of theatrics. Autumn started learning the violin at the age of four, and trained in conservatories as a composer, conductor, and music historian, but moved into popular music. After spending a summer in France recording withCourtney Love which followed shortly when her solo album Enchant was released, Autumn was invited to join Love's touring band, The Chelsea. She quickly gained attention as a solo performer, and was chosen as one ofInterview Magazine's "14 to Be", a pictorial featuring fourteen up-and-coming young female stars. Autumn debut album was a solo violin recording. Recorded when she was seventeen, On a Day…,(now known as 'Laced' in the double-feature violin album 'Laced/Unlaced') with the label she created and still controls, Traitor Records. Since the creation of her own production company, Autumn has branched out to create a number of side projects (The Jane Brooks Project, RavenSong, and Convent (not the metal band convent)). Her work as now as a solo performer includes two studio album releases 'Enchant' in 2002 and 'Opheliac' in 2006 as well as numerous EPs (such as Liar & Dead is the New Alive EP and the 4 O' Clock EP) and a double-feature violin album, Laced/ Unlaced, starring the classical/baroque violin with its interpretations of pieces by the masters as well as Autumn's own pieces and the electric violin in its shredding glory that continues where the classical/baroque violin album, formerly known as back then as 'On a Day…' which is now the 'Laced' part of the double-feature album,' left off all those years ago. Her discography also extends to a compilation of which is a mixture of old live recordings, covers and unreleased tracks from Autumn's early years as a performer and musician released as 'A Bit O' this & That' back in 2007. In the same year, a poetry book "Your Sugar sits Untouched' was also released which was an updated edition of what was 'Across the sky and other poems' from her teenage years(released in 2000) including some new poems. Emilie Autumn has also self-published and release her own autobiography/fantasy novel "The Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls by Emilie Autumn' to which is a well-written and heavily illustrated venture into Autumn's feat with her Bipolar I disorder and her all too real experiences with the mental health system. Autumn shares her story and lets in readers into her mind with the mission to show the reality of the Asylum and how not much has changed since the Victorian times and its own notorious mental health system. Emilie is also quite the performer when it comes to her concerts which is filled with nothing short of tea, glitter, naughty antics and her very own band of Bloody Crumpets with their own well-developed stage persona. With also the humorous choreography and story line that goes through the show, Autumn gives a special highlight to the harpsichord and electric violin corresponding with her wide-vocal range. As a musician and a performer Emilie Autumn invites others into her own world known as The Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls in which she vows to make a safe place where girls always get their revenge and break free from the long-time binding of the Asylum's steel bars. Emilie has also done performances with other artists such as Smashing Pumpkins' solo act, Billy Corgan, Courtney Love and Otep. She is also known to have done remixes with artists like Angelspit, Brenden Small and Dope Stars Inc. She has had also had her own material like the track 'Organ Grinder' from the 4 O' Clock EP and 'Dead is the New Alive (Manipulator Mix)' from the 'Liar & The Dead is the New Alive EP' feature in the SAW movie soundtracks.

There are a galaxy's worth of metal bands active today. But stare at all of those stars long enough and some lines start to form; everything starts to take shape. The Constellations begin to bloom.

Just two years ago, Lancaster, PA's AUGUST BURNS RED were, to the naked eye, just another young band jockeying for position in the modern metal scene. Then came Messengers, the band's 2007 full-length release for Solid State Records, and a new frontrunner emerged. Without hype, devoid of any smoke and mirrors, the album debuted at #81 on the Billboard charts, going on to ever-so-quietly sell more than 80,000 copies. Fueled only by the honesty and dynamism of the music, fans multiplied exponentially, driving ABR's MySpace plays well past the 17 million mark and flocking to the band's 2008 headlining tour which included sold-out venues across the country.

Meanwhile, AUGUST BURNS RED kept their heads down, conquering fans at Warped Tour, on the Take Action tour and at destinations from Dubai to Dallas, and increased their profile through placement of their beloved take on "Carol of the Bells" on the movie trailer for "The Spirit." The band also packed up their Phillies T-shirts and ever-present flip-flops and headed overseas for a tour of 12 countries throughout the UK and Europe. The star was shining bright. "It's extremely encouraging to see your band growing," says guitarist and primary songwriter JB Brubaker with characteristic modesty. "It helps keep you motivated and forces you to set the bar higher so that you can continue to grow and put out the best music you're capable of writing."

To that end the band returned to the studio this past February to record its hotly anticipated follow-up with lauded producer Jason Suecof (SEVENDUST, ALL THAT REMAINS, TRIVIUM). Fans flocked to the band's in-studio Stickam site by the tens of thousands to observe the band recording the album in real time. The result was Constellations, the third full-length offering from AUGUST BURNS RED, set for release on July 14. A crushing metal tour de force, the album pushes ABR's trademark aural blitz into directions previously unexplored by the band. "We spread our creative wings a bit on Constellations," says JB. "But I can say for sure that this record will definitely be as unrelenting as our previous ones." Accenting the blistering guitar work and syncopated breakdowns that AUGUST BURNS RED fans have grown to love are dynamics previously unexplored by the band. Constellations features more diverse tempos and cohesive song compositions than on previous ABR records, as well as the band's maiden voyage to the land of guitar solos.

"We've managed to push ourselves as musicians, as lyricists and performers," says drummer Matt Greiner. "As a whole, I feel like we're expanding, reinterpreting and refining our sound." That kind of sonic wanderlust has pushed AUGUST BURNS RED since the members first united in 2003 while still in high school. Armed with fearless innovation, uncanny technical ability and an innate near-classical songwriting style, the band started turning heads immediately upon the release of its 2005 Solid State debut, Thrill Seeker. The band's 2007 sleeper hit, Messengers, minted ABR as one of the pacesetters of the next generation of metal bands. The band has already proven to be the type that gets kids to put down Guitar Hero and pick up an actual guitar look no further than the number of bands on MySpace that listABR as an influence. With Constellations, that swelling army of fans will make sure that there's a racket from day one. "I am probably as excited for Constellations to come out as our most diehard fans," Brubaker exclaims. "I'd like to think there is something for everyone on the new album."

Already one of the year's most anticipated metal albums, Constellations will make good on the promise of the past two years, and will serve as proof-positive that AUGUST BURNS RED's success is no mere solar flare-up. This supernova's here to stay.
